Lemurs and Fossils
and Caves, Oh My!
Paleontologist Matt Borths, curator of the Duke Lemur Center (DLC) Museum of Natural History, followed up on the September visit with the live lemurs at the DLC by a group of neighbors. Matt brought along photos of his work in the Badlands of North America as well as the caves of Madagascar and photos illustrating the history of lemurs. He also brought along his 3-year-old son, who remained immersed in a video and his headphonse. Matt is the son of Courtyards of Southpoint neighbors Rob and Julie Borths.

Community Read Turns Page on Alternate Reality
Neighbors came together to discuss Nikki Erlick's novel "The Measure" as part of the second Community Read event.
The novel depicts different characters wrestling with a mysterious delivery: a "measure" of indestructible thread which predicts how long each adult has to live.
Provocative and thoughtful, the novel prompts all kinds of "what if" questions for readers.
The book was also the choice for a student community read event at Duke University.
