Happy spring from your Amenities Committee.
We are happy to report completion of the clubhouse transition from Epcon’s sales staff. A large section of the clubhouse interior received a fresh coat of paint. We obtained four round tables, each with six chairs, and they have been added to the great room. We now have tabled seating for 40 people. The sofas, chairs, and coffee tables have been relocated to the area formerly used by sales.
The main room in that area now has a sofa and two chairs, as well as what we hope soon will be a functioning television. The front office now has a small conference table with five chairs and a bookcase. It can be used for meetings or maybe playing games. The second office has built-in shelves, which hold books to borrow, a selection of jigsaw puzzles that can be borrowed, games that can be borrowed, as well as games to be used on-site by our various game clubs. Feel free to leave any books you want to donate on the coffee table, and donate or borrow a magazine in the magazine basket.
The "library" is a nice place to sit and chat with a friend, or get comfy on the sofa to read and relax. We have set up a hot-beverage station in the small alcove.
Have you seen the stunning new painting in the clubhouse? It was donated by one of our residents and was painted by an artist local to this part of the state, Nancy Meadows Taylor.
Were you aware this property formerly was an Arabian horse farm? The four canvases in the front room are photographs of the property prior to development, and we hung a small collection of items found in the horse barns in the beverage center. We have received a promise of two more paintings by two of our resident artists. It's been wonderful making this our clubhouse. We have more hopes, ideas and plans, so stay tuned.
Repainting the parking lines in the clubhouse parking lot has been scheduled, and this should be done by the time you receive this newsletter. We have our fingers crossed that the outside water fountain will be working and ready for warm weather. The four wood chairs in the pool area have been sealed, and they look great. We have been working on some WIFI/internet issues, and we are checking on the possibility of switching from cable to a streaming service to include some sports channels.
The pool storage box hinge has been repaired. This is our second box, and we are trying to make it last. Please open and close carefully, and secure the lid.
